GridMatrix

About GridMatrix

GridMatrix tracks the real-time US electricity generation mix across the Lower-48 grid. The dashboard highlights renewable share, current generation by source, and longer-term renewable energy trends.

The goal is to make the US power grid easier to understand at a glance: how much electricity is being generated, which fuel sources are contributing, and how renewable generation changes over time.

What GridMatrix Shows

The dashboard focuses on renewable electricity from wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal resources. It also shows non-renewable generation sources such as natural gas, coal, nuclear, petroleum, batteries, and other categories reported by the EIA.

Who It Is For

GridMatrix is useful for energy analysts, climate-tech teams, researchers, journalists, operators, students, and anyone who wants a fast read on the US grid energy mix.
